THE LIE

Updated: Dec 31, 2024

The Lie

Who do we lie to?

Ourselves,

others,

or the moment itself?

What is the message

or the learning philosophy

of a lie?

Is it beneficial—

a shield from harm—

or is it truly deceitful,

a thread that unravels

in the hands of the deliverer?

But do they even know?

Do they act on fear,

or does fear

act through them?

You learn to lie

because you are afraid.

But who does it help?

The one who lies,

or the one who is lied to?

Which impact is more significant?

Which carries

the greatest consequence?

In the end,

it is all a lie.

Who wins?

Or is winning

even the right measure

of the moment?

The truth,

if it exists,

becomes the reality

of the one acting

in the moment.

Who decides where truth ends,

and the lie begins?

Perhaps a lie

is only an adjective—

a description of good intentions

unraveled.
